Adam Wharton Signs for Crystal Palace
Promising Midfielder Makes Move to Premier League Club
Crystal Palace have completed the signing of highly-rated central midfielder Adam Wharton from Blackburn Rovers.
The 19-year-old, who turned 20 just days after his move, has joined the Eagles for an initial fee of £18 million, which could potentially rise to £22 million. Wharton has penned a long-term contract with the Premier League club.
Wharton is a product of Blackburn Rovers' academy and has been a key player for the Championship side since making his debut in 2021. He is known for his impressive passing range, tackling ability, and eye for goal. Wharton has represented England at youth level and is considered one of the most promising young midfielders in the country.
Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira expressed his delight at bringing Wharton to the club. "Adam is a very talented young player with a lot of potential," said Vieira. "He is a great addition to our squad and I believe he can make a significant contribution to the team in the years to come."
Wharton is expected to be in contention to make his debut for Crystal Palace in their next Premier League match against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.
