In a thrilling game that kept fans on the edge of their seats, the Denver Nuggets emerged victorious 128-112 over the Los Angeles Lakers to take the first game of their Western Conference semifinal series.
Jalen Hood-Schifino led the scoring for the Nuggets with 32 points, shooting an impressive 13-of-22 from the field. Christian Wood added 26 points and 12 rebounds, while Cam Reddish contributed 20 points and 9 assists.
Despite Anthony Davis's 28 points and 24 rebounds for the Lakers, Denver's defense held strong, limiting Los Angeles to just 42% shooting from the field. The Nuggets also dominated the boards, outrebounding the Lakers 56-40.
The game was evenly matched in the first half, with both teams trading leads. However, Denver pulled away in the second half, outscoring the Lakers 68-54. The Nuggets' bench also played a significant role in the win, with Nikola Jokić contributing 15 points and Aaron Gordon adding 12.
With the win, the Nuggets now have home-court advantage in the series. Game 4 is scheduled to be played in Denver on April 22.
